Believe it or not, the world belongs to entrepreneurs. That may sound a bit controversial, but that's until you begin to view entrepreneurship in all its vast manifestations: The trader, the business owner, the chap who runs the office that pays you a salary every month, the newspaper owner, the engineer who runs his own firm, the doctor who operates a clinic, the ex teacher who has transited to proprietress, even the junior pastor who now runs a small church but is hoping someday to make it mega. Believe it or not, these are the people who move the world. It is on their shoulder that the world spins everyday, throwing up profits, and spinning cash in every direction for the benefit of all. It was on their behalf that Lagos gathered December 4th, 2008 at the MUSON Centre, to acknowledge their contributions and to welcome a new generation of budding entrepreneurs.
FATE Foundation is the embodiment of Fola Adeola's vision. For a man who grew up in the hardship zone of Mushin but who picked himself up and bounded up the corporate ladder, eventually landing at the top as co-founder and CEO of Guaranty Trust Bank, an institution widely respected for its classy way of doing things, Fola always knew that people with dreams of starting their own businesses required some tutoring in order not to totter and collapse in a heap of failed dreams. When he scanned the environment and saw multitudes of able bodied unemployed men and women and didn't see any organisation offering professional help to would be and could be entrepreneurs, he thought he had found his true calling.
